- nice staff, nice ambient, very good breakfast, clean room
Puerto del Sol is very close to Jerez which during the Fair is expensive. It is wonderful for Seafood and it is possible to take a small ferry directly into the Old and Historic part of Cadiz. The Hotel is good value for money and is well appointed.
Nice room, although a bit small. Efficient, friendly staff and nice atmosphere
I asked for a non smoking room and it smelt of stale tobacco smoke. The corridor outside the room was noisy and the cafeteria prices were excessive. I did pay for double occupancy but when I arrived as a solo travellor, I was given a small "single" room
It has a Parador feeling...Beautifuf old building.Breakfast very good.Handy free parking on the street out side hotel.
a little far to walk to the ferry,to Cadiz
The room was fine, no tea/coffee making facilities available. We had a meal in the cafe which was adequate. We stayed here because of location to the airport.
The external areas were poor indeed compared to the quality of the internal "historic" parts. Painting, and some attention to detail are neccesary, which is unfortunate as it dragged down the other areas which were lovely. The pool itself is in need of attention as quite a few tiles are missing, the pool is not as clean as it should be, and the steps into the pool are loose. The location of the hotel is in a very built up area, and difficult to access by car. The side streets are very narrow and with vehicles parked on one side (which it is as space is at a premium) it is almost impossible to get another vehicle through. There is a car park but it is accessed via one of these narrow roads.
Nice location, friendly staff, the hotel is a dream.
The hotel is very charming. The breakfast is variety and very enjoyable taking it with his outdoor area. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. They have some rooms in lower level which are very cheap but dont think that can be smart stay. I asked to switch right away and paid only 25 euros extra for a room with balcony and swiming pool view. The downstaire area are very nice and quite to read a book or surfing internet there.
Hotel was beautifully refurbished, staff were friendly and helpful. Food in both restaurants was good and service immaculate
The hotel wonderfully combines traditional decoration and atmosphere with excellent facilities and a relaxed environment. The staff were very attentive and helpful and the food was very good, with both fine dining and simpler options available. The location central, but quiet, and with many restaurants and tapas bars nearby. It also had an underground car park on site, which was particularly useful.
Our ensuite bathroom was a bit tight, with the facilities having been squeezed closely together
excellent staff attitude great pool, but area pretty smalll if the hotel is full.
This is worth a stay just for the hotel. Whilst the Puertyo St Maria is well placed between Cadiz and Jerez, it is fairly small. The hotel is a real experience. Staying in a former monastry!
El Puerto de Santa Maria is a pretty nondescript Spanish port with no great attractions. The great thing about it is that its restaurants serve some of the best seafood in Spain and there is a regular and cheap catarmaran service across the bay to Cadiz.(El Vaporcito, the little steamer, sank a couple of weeks ago unfortunately). We got a great 'book early, pay up front' deal on the hotel. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the rooms comfortable and clean. The receptionist recommended a small, scruffy restaurant in the port that we wouldn't normally have gone near, glad we did as the food was superb and amazingly cheap for the quality.
Exceeded expectations. Immaculate and classy restoration. Very comfortable large twin room. Professional staff. Excellent breakfast. Courtesy bus to the beach (a smiling happy driver). This is how a 4-star hotel should be run! And just 10-15 minutes walk from the railway station.
luxurious place, quiet and resting , romantic
Hotel Monasterio San Miguel is a beautiful place, everyone who likes historical buildings will love its magic atmosphere The breakfast was very good, with many options. Parking under the hotel costs 13 Euro per night, what is quite a lot, but unfortunately common in this area. I would definitely recommend this hotel, we were impressed by the building!!
